BOSTON – The advisory firm Shefsky & Froelich of Chicago for the Springfield casino has been comprehended of a probable clash of interest by the state Ethics Commission. This firm is a registered lobbyist with Penn National Gaming and MGM Resorts in Illinois. The two companies are looking forward for a casino license in the city. An inquiry has been sought by chairman of the Massachusetts Gaming Commission, the controller of gaming into the decision of city in the appointment of this firm. It is worried about the fairness of the firm in counseling Springfield.
The judgment of ethics, disclosed by the law firm stated that representation of Springfield is not in disagreement with the state law. The chairman of the firm - Cezar Froelich expressed his delight over attitude of the Ethics Commission and showed his gratitude for the time and thoughtfulness of the commission for such a significant issue. He further stated that they have completely obeyed the law which permits them to offer impartial guidance to the city by submitting the revelation forms asked by Massachusetts law.
