The District Judge Patricia Romig-Passaro has prosecuted Jeremy Joseph Pahula for making additional bets at the Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem to the blackjack game during the beginning of this month. As per the records maintained by the court, on eighth of September at about 3.30 p.m. he repeated the unlawful act a number of times. Stringent security check through the video helped to apprehend Pahula.
Resident of the 1300 block in Chew Street, the thirty-four years old Pahula pinched and capped his wagers at the blackjack table on the said day. Pinching is related to cutting down the bets after knowing a hand whereas capping means addition of bets after dealing the cards.
The court has observed that the player has been involved in the fraudulent activities at the blackjack tables in the past too. The advice of the dealers in the matter did not make any effect upon the player who has made approx $450 in a single day with the hoax, say the records. He has played the trick with full knowledge through fifteen counts for making the changes to make money. Due to his anti-law gaming, Pahula has been imprisoned in Northampton County Prison against a surety of $10,000.
Like all other accused persons, Pahula pleaded that he was not guilty. Being a novice player & quite ignorant about the game, he was not aware of any illegal act on his part till the time he was informed by the dealer that he had committed a crime, said Pahula. He added that upon receiving the advice of the dealer, he had discontinued pinching and capping, say the court papers.
