Gopal Goyal Kanda, the ex-minister of Haryana State in India; after being imprisoned in Geetika murder case has decided to give up casino business completely in Goa in the coming week. As stated by V.V. Jain, the vice-president of Golden Globe Hotels Private Limited, a contract that has already been settled and will be signed by the company on Tuesday or Wednesday for sale of its offshore casino.
This hotel is a subordinate of MDLR Airlines which was closed in 2009. During the same year, the offshore Rio Casino was purchased from Hotel Leela by Kanda that could not be started due to some problems related to the license. With the beginning of this casino, the number of offshore casinos in Goa will become five. While maintaining the secrecy of the contract between two companies, Jain informed that the yearly charges have already been deposited with the government and now Golden Globe is interested in real estate business. The ship that is affixed on the Mandovi River at present will be revamped by the undisclosed company.
Another treaty with Mint Casino at Riveira de Goa at Arpora under the possession of Francisco de Braganza was also signed by MDLR Airlines in 2009. However, this deal was closed without any legal actions by common consent in November 2009. An ex-air hostess, Geetika Sharma of MDLR Airlines worked with Bollywod Star Nupur Mehta and Ankita Singh on the Mint. Geetika, who committed suicide lately, held Kanda guilty for the problems caused in her life while Ankita Singh informed police about her marriage with Kanda and a child that was born out of their relations.
