Las Vegas- On Friday, the Palms Casino Resort located in Las Vegas got a court order against one of its sacked ex-employees Jessica Hemingway, to stop her from making public the secret information related to thousands of economically sound players and guests of the casino that was stolen by her from work. According to Elayna Youchah, the legal representative of the company, there is a record and follow up of the activities such as the games played by regular customers; the time and frequency of playing as well as the spending behavior plus credit limits at Palms casino. The same information has been negotiated by Hemingway, who started working in the table games department as a host in Sep. 2011. A discretion contract was also signed by her with the company. To make sure that the customers were receiving admiring services in a comfortable and enjoyable atmosphere plus fulfillment of their logical requests was the key duty of Hemingway. The company checked her e-mails after coming to know about her change of job in June and the incident of misappropriation of companys e-mails came to the surface. In the e-mails, there were lists of over 500 high-rolling players and 6,000 people qualifying for invitations to the popular Super Bowl party at the casino with their detailed information. There was also an excel sheet in the e-mails that contained the marketing plans of casino for the year 2011 for out-of-town guests.
As stated by Jessica in front of Elizabeth Gonzalez, the Clark County District Court Judge, the information was not made public by her and she took it home so that she could complete her work. She added that she was utilizing the information to enthuse more people to visit the Palms. A stable sanction has been passed by Gonzalez to ban 31 year old Jessica and her 32 year old fiancé Scott Yelton, a retired Oklahoma City fire paramedic from making the trade secrets public. The casino officials have been blamed by Jessica for dismissing her from job on 9th July following a charge of sexual harassment by a male supervisor of the casino filed with the Nevada Equal Rights Commission. Jessica and Yelton gave their presence in front of the judge without hiring any lawyer. The order given by court to check Jessicas computer by casino officials was unchallenged by the two while they discarded a planned contract with Palms representatives about dropping of the sexual harassment allegation. Yelton stated that both of them just wanted to get their names cleared from the allegation referring to the preliminary reports of the case in the Las Vegas Sun on Thursday.
According to Elizabeth Nelson, the legal representative of Palms, the e-mails compromised by Jessica contained over 50,000 files excluding the Social Security numbers. Further, she added that she has no idea about the awaited legal actions related to the sexual harassment case and details of charge filed against Jessica in Clark County District Court on Tuesday. As per court filing against Jessica, the e-mailed files contained important secret information about the trade of Palms Casino Resort. A report in relation to Jessicas behavior was submitted by Palms with the Nevada Gaming Control Board, the status of which is still awaited according to Mark Lipparelli. The spokesperson of the police, Jose Hernandez of Las Vegas said that so far no report has been filed with the police.
