AMERICAN CANYON – On Tuesday, William Ross, the City notary informed that an unlawful complaint was registered against the owners of Napa Valley casino for not paying the entrance tax worth $2 to the city; which is illegal. The city came out victorious in this complaint. A legal action will be taken by the city against its sole card room that declined to collect this tax that has been supported by votes. In view of the public defiance, the decision in the case is still awaited. The hearing of the case is indefinite so far. Chuck Finney, the representative of Napa Valley informed that a meeting will take place between owners of the casino and the lawyers. He added that the admittance tax forced by the city on the business to support the financial equilibrium of the city contravenes the fundamental idea of fairness and lawful state safeguard in opposition to unreasonable taxation and this has left Atlizer in great frustration.
The entrance tax was supported by the American Valley voters in 2010 and it was believed to start-off in the first four months of 2010. Assuming it to be illegal, the partners denied to collect it.
