NASSAU, the Bahamas – The Baha Mar team was congratulated by the Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. Perry Gladstone Christie for its historic achievement of 100-foot mark. He appreciated the entire team for timely completion of the single largest project. The prime minister expressed that more job opportunities would be generated for the Bahamians upon completion of the project and it would prove much helpful for the country’s economic uplift. The project has strengthened the confidence in the people of the Bahamas and also their Government, said the Prime Minister. He commended the role of all workers who have contributed greatly for the project and expected a major casino partner to join hands with Baba Mar. The Primer Minster commented that partnership with the suitable associate would uplift the level of customer base, marketing clout and cutting-edge products represented by Rosewood, Sheraton and Hyatt, Mandarin. The association would add to the number of visitors from new markets as well as from the established ones. He continued by saying that the tourism landscape of the country would get a fresh look with the opening.
Tom Dunlap, the executive vice president of Baha Mar expected to celebrate again when the site touches 200 feet and subsequently another time at the topping out ceremony when it reaches the 326th feet. He quoted a famous phrase of the Baha Mar project workers - one team, one dream and today 100-feet. Hon. Hon. Philip Brave Davis, the deputy prime minister & the minister of works & urban development, Hon. Obie Wilchcombe, the minister of tourism and Hon. Khaalis Rolle, the minister of state for investments in the Prime Minister’s office were also present at the occasion. Other prominent dignitaries also graced the event with their presence at the cost of their valuable time.
