Wednesday was a big day for Arundel Mills as Marylands largest casino was opened for public at 10.00 p.m. All the visitors enjoyed the VIP reception and the public started lining up at 1 p.m. Washingston resident, Sharon Kimson who loves slots, was overjoyed to play at the casino. Her relative also joined her in appreciating the opening ceremony. Cordish Companies Gaming President & Managing Partner, Joe Weinberg was also thrilled with the ceremony.
Out of the total of 4,750 slot machines licensed for the casino; only 3,200 were made available for the gamblers on Wednesday while the remaining would also become operational this fall. Robert Norton, the general manager expressed happiness on the opening of the casino. While three restaurants have been opened on Wednesday night, the buffet would start functioning on Thursday. The public will enjoy live entertainment through Rams Head Live and other restaurants this summer.
Chairman David Cordish commented that they had to go through a big battle for making the casino a reality that has cost it an amount of $500 million. The project would be able to feed 4,000 families through suitable employment, he said.
