Andy Choy, the Riviera CEO apprised the Associated Press on Thursday that in view of the casino’s deteriorating condition, it is shaking hands with the Buffalo Studios, the company that supports the popular Facebook game Bingo Blitz. A web page with an image of the Riviera would enable the gamblers to enjoy bingo from this week onwards. They could even win a free trip to participate in the casino’s twice-yearly $200,000 bingo tournament, said Andy Choy. He added that Riviera suffered badly due to its remote position, surrounded by poor shops, semi-finished resorts and empty lots that discourage in-traffic and thus poor revenues.
Our prime focus is that Riviera is put to the highest level of progress and that is the reason of our association with Bingo Blitz, he said. He hoped for a considerable rise in the revenues as the game has earned the seventh most recommended place on Facebook in 2011. The players from across the globe are enthusiastic about big-rewarding bingo. Riviera is all set for the July Superstar Bingo tournament and the players have to pay $150 for participating in it. Mr. Choy expected the revenue of the casino to scale new heights with the help of bingo.
Though sometimes Riviera suffered losses on bingo, but the game induces new gamblers greatly that generates more revenue and we just cannot depend on the foot traffic like other operators, said Mr. Choy. Since its inception, approx 250 people have been attracted on all days to the Riviera's bingo room that can accommodate 175 gamblers.
The vice president of Buffalo Studios, Mr. Salim Mitha expressed that Bingo is a very social game and that is why it has been put online.
